✈ Direct Flights to Belize from the USA
Belize’s main airport — Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) — is well connected to the United States, especially during the high travel season (November to April).
Current year-round or seasonal direct flights to Belize from the USA include:
- American Airlines – Miami (MIA), Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), Charlotte (CLT, seasonal)
- Delta Air Lines – Atlanta (ATL)
- United Airlines – Houston (IAH), Chicago (ORD seasonal), Denver (DEN seasonal)

Alaska Airlines operates LAX–BZE year-round, with Delta offering a seasonal option during peak months. This is one of the longest nonstop routes into Belize, saving you from a US connection.
NYC to Belize Direct Flights
JetBlue flies direct from JFK seasonally, while United has occasionally operated Newark–Belize in high season. Travelers from NYC can also connect quickly through Miami, Houston, or Atlanta.
Boston to Belize Direct Flights
Currently, no Boston–Belize nonstop exists. Most travelers connect via Miami or Charlotte.
✈ Direct Flights to Belize from Canada
Canadian flights to Belize are seasonal only, typically running from late fall through spring:
- WestJet – Toronto (YYZ), Calgary (YYC)
- Air Canada – Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL)
Flying outside these months will require a US connection.

Belize does not currently have year-round scheduled flights from Europe, but seasonal and charter options exist:

Many European travelers choose to fly into Cancún, Mexico, then connect to Belize via Tropic Air or an overland transfer.

Seasonal Flight Changes — Know Before You Book
Belize’s high tourism season runs from mid-November to late April. Airlines add more direct routes during this time. In low season, especially September and October, you might find:
- Fewer direct flights from secondary US cities
- No service from Canada at all
- Smaller planes replacing larger aircraft
💡 Travel Smart: If you’re traveling off-season, consider booking to Cancún or Flores and entering Belize by land or short regional flight — often cheaper and still scenic.
🛬 What to Expect on Arrival at BZE
Most guides skip this part, but it matters.
- No jet bridges – Almost all flights park on the tarmac. You’ll exit the plane by stairs and walk outside to the terminal.
* 🌦 If it’s raining, you will get wet. There is no covered walkway.
* Tip: Keep a small rain jacket or poncho in your carry-on. - Small customs area – Just one baggage carousel. Customs is immediately after baggage claim.
- Arrival time matters – If three or more flights land at once, expect lines. Arrivals in the afternoon can be busier.
Lesser-Known Entry Points
Fly into Flores, Guatemala
If you’re interested in Tikal, you can:
- Fly into Flores (FRS) from Guatemala City or via TAG/Tropic Air.
- Visit Tikal.
- Cross into Belize at Melchor de Mencos and continue to San Ignacio or Belize City.
This route lets you see two countries in one trip and ties into Belize’s Maya history.
Fly into Cancún, Mexico
Sometimes cheaper than US–BZE routes. From Cancún you can:
- Fly with Tropic Air direct to BZE
- Take a bus to Chetumal and cross by water taxi to San Pedro
Booking Tips for Belize Flights
- Best prices – 2–3 months ahead for high season, 4–5 months for Christmas.
- Midweek flights – Tuesdays and Wednesdays often cost less.
- Compare airports – Sometimes a short domestic US flight to Miami or Houston plus a Belize ticket is cheaper than flying direct from your city.
