ATM Cave Tour
(Actun Tunichil Muknal)

Journey into Belize’s Most Sacred Maya Cave

An unforgettable full-day adventure deep into the Maya underworld, led by a licensed expert.

Gallery Highlights

The Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave is more than a tour — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime exploration of one of the world’s most awe-inspiring archaeological sites. Hidden deep in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, this living museum was once a sacred Maya ceremonial site, where rituals, sacrifices, and spiritual journeys were carried out over 1,000 years ago.

Your adventure begins with a jungle hike, river crossings, and cave swimming before arriving at vast underground chambers filled with ancient artifacts, pottery, and calcified human remains — including the famous “Crystal Maiden.” Licensed local guide leads this intimate experience with deep cultural knowledge, safety training, and personal respect for this sacred site.

Review of tour done at ATM Cave in Belize

"Great Experience on 2 Tours.
We had a great experience. We did both the Caracol tour and the ATM Cave tour. Our guides were professional, talkative, informative, and all around great people who love Belize and all it has to offer. The lunches provided were exceptional and the level of personal interaction was superior to most other tours I’ve been on!"
